Allowance from the health insurance fund
Are you eligible for an allowance from the health insurance fund? Then we will help arrange the administration: depending on the problem, one or more medical prescriptions are required, after which we provide the necessary documents to your health insurance fund. The advisory physician then assesses whether the conditions have been met. In the event of agreement, the reimbursement usually runs for two years; if the support continues longer, we will look into the extension in due time.
Am I eligible for allowance?
This depends on the disorder and the conditions of the RIZIV. For each service, we honestly state the status:
- Usually reimbursed — when the specific RIZIV conditions are met (e.g. dyslexia, dyscalculia, DLD, stuttering).
- Sometimes reimbursed — depending on the nature of the problem and the conditions (e.g. articulation or phonological problems).
- Not reimbursed — for services not covered by the compulsory health insurance, such as the typing lessons (Typ-10).
As conventioned (official rates) speech therapists we work with the official RIZIV rates.
You only pay the patient co-payment. With preferential reimbursement you pay €2. For home or school visits it is an extra €2.50 per session. Your health insurance fund pays the largest part of the fee directly to the speech therapist.
You pay the full fee. E.g. for the typing lessons or when the RIZIV conditions are not met.
Indicative rates 2026 for an individual session of 30 minutes. The exact amounts are indexed annually by RIZIV and are subject to change; we will inform you in advance about the rate applicable to your pathway.
